Haiti's PM visits Lachaux Pond (Camp-Perrin)

As part of his official tour of the South of country, Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé visited the Lachaux Pond in Camp-Perrin, considered the largest lake in the South, both in terms of water volume and length.

A true ecological treasure of the region, the Lachaux Pond is a major ecosystem for the biodiversity of the South. Covering an area of over 0.54 km², it is essential for the preservation of natural resources and the environmental balance of the region.

Accompanied by Valéry Fils-Aimé, the Minister of the Environment, and several members of the Government, the Prime Minister met with those involved in the maintenance and protection of the site. He reaffirmed the State's commitment to supporting them and strengthening efforts to preserve this natural area.

The Prime Minister also planted fruit trees, emphasizing that reforestation must be both an act of environmental protection and a source of wealth for communities "Protecting our natural resources means defending our heritage, our economy, and the future of Haiti."
