iciHaiti - Infrastructure : Public Works in Action

Under the dynamic leadership of Engineer Joseph Almathe Pierre Louis, Minister of Public Works, Transportation, and Communications, the Ministry's Departmental Directorates continue to intensify their efforts across the entire country.

With a firm commitment to modernizing our infrastructure and improving the daily lives of the population, technical teams and heavy equipment are working in several departments.

In the Petit-Goâve district, the Ministry is conducting a large-scale cleanup and clearing operation. Teams are working on National ROad #2, in the Chabanne area, to carry out cleaning and mechanical debris removal. This public health initiative extends to the heart of the city, encompassing Grande Rue, the Place d'Armes area, and the iconic Place Faustin Soulouque.

Meanwhile, in the West Department, the Ministry of Public Works, Transport and Communications (MTPTC) is reinforcing existing infrastructure on the Boutilliers road by beginning the formwork for drainage ditches to improve stormwater management, while also carrying out road resurfacing. Work is also underway, notably in Cité Soleil, on Toussaint Louverture Boulevard (Carrefour Rita area), and on the Delmas 33 extension (section : Carrefour Rita - BIM).

The effort to open up isolated areas continues actively in the Northeast, where the Bas-les-Perches and Haut-les-Perches sections are benefiting from resurfacing work designed to restore easier traffic flow for residents.

For its part, the Central Department is seeing its strategic routes reinforced, particularly on the road linking Hinche to Thomassique in the Orobe area, thanks to resurfacing operations that stabilize the road and improve the safety of goods and people.
