On Tuesday, August 18, 2026, the Ministry of Agriculture, Natural Resources and Rural Development (MARNDR), with the support of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), carried out a large-scale distribution of agricultural inputs in the commune of Kenscoff.

This initiative falls under the purview of the Special Relief Operations Office, which focuses on emergency food production and supplying livestock farmers. It aims to strengthen farmers' production capacities.

A total of 1,024 farmers from several communal sections of Kenscoff received seed supplies. The beneficiaries came primarily from the 2nd section (Sourçaille), the 3rd section (Borgard), the 4th section (Belle-Fontaine), and the 5th section (Grand-Fond).

The distributed inputs mainly consisted of vegetable seeds, red bean seeds, and sweet potato cuttings. This assistance should enable the beneficiary producers to strengthen their agricultural activities while improving their ability to earn income.

Through this initiative, the Haitian government reaffirms its commitment to supporting local producers and the agricultural sector in the face of the challenges related to food insecurity.
