On Friday, August 21, 2026, Raina Forbin, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, officially installed Dr. Jean Guy-Marie Louis as Director General of the Jean Price Mars Diplomatic Academy (ADJPM).

This installation marks a historic milestone. Indeed, in accordance with the Decree of June 2nd, 2026, concerning the organization and operation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Worship, the Academy, formerly a simple Directorate, has become a technically decentralized service of the Ministry with the rank of Directorate General. After twelve years at its helm as Director, Dr. Louis thus becomes its first Director General, following the Order issued by the Council of Ministers on August 11, 2026.

In her address, the Minister commended Dr. Louis's decisive contribution to the training of a significant number of Chancery officials and assured him of the Government's full support for the Academy's future initiatives.

Speaking at the event, Dr. Louis presented a summary of the Academy's achievements since its inception in 1996 and outlined its various areas of focus. He also expressed his gratitude to the Minister for her initiatives to develop and promote skilled professionals, particularly the establishment of a pool of diplomatic administrators who will be progressively deployed to Haitian diplomatic missions and consular posts, as well as the upcoming organization of pools for cultural attachés, commercial attachés, negotiators, and other personnel dedicated to serving Haitian diplomacy.
