On Saturday, August 22, 2026, the government delegation visited the municipality of Terre-Neuve for a survey and assessment of the main road section under the municipality's jurisdiction in Gonaïves. This visit allowed them to assess the road's condition and identify interventions to be considered by the Ministry of Public Works (MTPTC) to improve traffic flow and facilitate the movement of residents.

That evening, Valéry Fils-Aimé, Minister of the Environment, and Joseph Almathe Pierre-Louis, Minister of Public Works, accompanied by members of the Gonaïves Municipal Commission, continued their field mission on the Route des Dattes to evaluate the progress of the ongoing projects aimed at improving the quality of life.

The delegation observed the progress of the dredging work undertaken thanks to the joint efforts of teams from the Ministry of the Environment, the MTPTC, and the Gonaïves City Hall. These interventions constitute the first step in the project to rehabilitate this historic thoroughfare, which also includes its beautification through, in particular, the planting of date palms and the installation of streetlights.

This third day confirms the community-based approach favored by the Government : going into the field, identifying needs with local communities, initiating interventions, and monitoring their implementation.
