Environment : 2nd series of training sessions for the implementation of the PAIEC

The Ministry of the Environment (MdE) is continuing the training and support phase for pre-selected project leaders within the framework of the first edition of the Support Program for Citizen Environmental Initiatives (PAIEC) https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-48185-haiti-environment-training-for-the-citizen-environmental-initiatives-support-program.html

Implemented with the support of technical and financial partners, the PAIEC reflects the Ministry of the Environment's commitment to going beyond funding by strengthening the capacities of local stakeholders and fostering the emergence of initiatives capable of contributing to environmental protection, green entrepreneurship, and the sustainable development of communities.

Following an initial series of training sessions held in the West, South, Grand'Anse, Artibonite, and North departments, this second series took place in the Northwest, Northeast, Southeast, Nippes, and Central departments, thus extending this support phase to all ten departments of the country.

This phase is part of a process that received over 800 applications, 537 of which were deemed eligible, before the shortlisting of 100 environmental initiatives. In total, nearly 300 beneficiaries, from environmental organizations and young entrepreneurs, are participating in the training and coaching activities.

Over three days, participants receive support in structuring their initiatives, completing project and business concept forms, planning activities, and preparing budgets. Personalized coaching sessions also help them improve the quality and viability of their proposals.

At the opening of the workshops, the Departmental Directors of the Environment emphasized the need to clearly identify the problems that the initiatives aim to address and to propose realistic, sustainable solutions tailored to the needs of the communities.

This second series of training sessions marks a new step forward in the implementation of the PAIEC. Following this phase, the project leaders will continue to finalize their proposals, which will then be evaluated for the final selection of projects that will receive financial support.
