Congratulations from the Minister of Youth to the U-14 Grenadiers

On Monday, August 24, Pythagore Dumas, Minister of Youth and Sports (MJSAC), proudly welcomed the Haitian U-14 boys' national football team to the diplomatic lounge of Toussaint Louverture International Airport. They were returning home after their victory at the 2026 CFU Challenge Series, held in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-48283-cfu-challenge-2026-u-14-haiti-caribbean-champions-humiliate-jamaica-[4-0].html

The Minister also praised the individual performance of Jerry Petit-Homme, who scored a goal in the 4th second against the Dominican Republic, which was presented as the fastest goal in football history. On this subject, although several media and fans, as well as the Minister, consider this goal the fastest in football history, it should be noted that FIFA has not yet officially ratified this absolute world record. For comparison, the official record recognized by Guinness World Records for a professional match is held by Uruguayan Ricardo Olivera, who scored after 2.8 seconds in 1998. The Minister also congratulated Jodley Sheeckensley Delmas, the top scorer.

Plaques of honor were presented to captain Claremond Cédric on behalf of all the players, to the technical staff led by Jean-Marc Alexandre, as well as to Ms. Monique André, President of the Normalization Committee of the Haitian Football Federation (FHF), Mr. Patrick Massénat, Secretary General of the FHF, Ms. Gally Amazan, and Mr. Yvon Sévère, members of the committee.
