PNH : New commander in Kenscoff
The High Command of the Haitian National Police (PNH) has decided to establish a new command in Kenscoff, tasked with strengthening the police presence on the ground. The West Departmental Director, Divisional Commissioner Yvon Cantave, officially installed Chief Commissioner Jean-Pierre Ketler Mauriceau as the new head of the Kenscoff jurisdiction on Thursday, August 27, 2026. He replaces Inspector Nikenson Cadet, who faced significant criticism for his management of security. As part of these measures, reinforcements will be implemented at several strategic locations that were already part of the security apparatus established in October 2025. These measures aim to consolidate these positions and improve the operational capacity of law enforcement on the ground. Operational teams remain mobilized and ready to provide a vigorous response against terrorist groups, with the objective of protecting the lives and property of the population. The PNH will continue to pursue all criminals, their accomplices, and anyone else who demonstrates negligence in the course of its mission. All these measures will be implemented with the determination to strengthen security, restore order, and guarantee the protection of the population of Kenscoff. IH/ iciHaiti
