On Friday, August 28, 2026, the Office of Occupational Accident, Illness, and Maternity Insurance (OFATMA) celebrated its 59th anniversary. The celebration brought together members of the staff of Agronomist Vikerson Garnier, Director General, as well as managers, employees, collaborators from OFATMA and partner institutions.

In his address, Garnier paid tribute to the various generations who have contributed to the building and development of the institution "OFATMA’s 59th anniversary represents a history of achievements, challenges, and sacrifices made by the workers and, above all, by those who continue to serve this noble institution."

He specifically commended the contributions of managers, healthcare professionals, employees, and all collaborators who, over the years, have dedicated their expertise and energy to fulfilling OFATMA’s mission.

Addressing the outlook for OFATMA, Vikerson Garnier reaffirmed the need to continue modernizing and reforming the institution to better meet the needs of insured individuals and the public. Among the identified priorities are improving service quality, enhancing reception and accessibility, modernizing procedures, improving governance and transparency, and accelerating digital transformation.

Garnier also emphasized the need to strengthen collaboration with OFATMA's various partners, including employers, workers, trade unions, healthcare professionals, and public institutions. He further focused on strengthening the prevention of workplace accidents and occupational diseases, noting that an effective social protection policy must also act upstream to promote safer and healthier working environments.

The Director General emphasized that this collaboration is a key factor in achieving the objectives set by his administration, particularly regarding institutional capacity building, the continuation of reforms, and the improvement of services for workers and insured individuals.

The Director General also stressed the need to prepare OFATMA for the future by strengthening its effectiveness, its connection with the population, and its capacity to address the challenges of social protection.
