Following its analysis of data related to fuel deliveries in Haiti on August 27, 2026, the Petroleum Market Monitoring Advisory Council notes that fluctuations in international petroleum product prices, exchange rates, and logistical costs are currently exerting upward pressure on petroleum product prices in Haiti.

The price structure examined shows calculated prices of 875.43 HTG for gasoline, 898.29 HTG for diesel, and 805.25 HTG for kerosene. However, current pump prices are 700 HTG, 770 HTG, and 765 HTG per gallon, respectively. This results in significant discrepancies between the actual supply costs and the prices charged to consumers. From a purely technical standpoint, these discrepancies could justify an adjustment to pump prices.

However, given the current economic and social climate, particularly on the eve of the start of the school year, the Council believes that such a measure would be ill-advised. An immediate increase in petroleum product prices would, in fact, lead to higher costs for public and school transportation, as well as those related to the transport of goods. This would, in turn, place additional pressure on the cost of living and on the already severely weakened purchasing power of Haitian households.

Consequently, Serge Gabriel Collin, Minister of Economy and Finance, and James Monazard, Minister of Commerce and Industry, on the recommendation of the Petroleum Market Monitoring Advisory Council (CCSMP), hereby inform the general public, and importers, distributors, and consumers of petroleum products in particular, that the pump prices in effect throughout the country are now set as follows :

700 HTG per gallon for gasoline (Unchanged);

770 HTG per gallon for diesel (Unchanged);

765 HTG per gallon for kerosene (Unchanged).

This recommendation reflects current market data while protecting Haitian households from an additional financial burden during this particularly sensitive back-to-school period.
