A meeting was held between members of the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) and the Group of Eminent Persons of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) at the electoral body's headquarters in Pétion-ville.

This meeting allowed both parties to discuss several important aspects of the ongoing electoral process, including voter registration, the implementation of the electoral calendar, and the next steps leading to the organization of the upcoming elections in the country.

In his remarks, Jacques Desrosiers, the President of the CEP, presented the main steps already taken in implementing the electoral calendar. He specifically provided an update on voter registration operations, the functioning of the registration and polling centers, and the measures taken by the CEP to facilitate citizens' access to electoral services.

The President of the CEP also highlighted the institution's efforts to strengthen public awareness and mobilization, particularly among youth, women, internally displaced persons, and all other categories of citizens called upon to participate in the electoral process.

For its part, the Group of Eminent Persons expressed its interest in the progress of the electoral process and its hope that this process would be successful in the best interests of the Haitian nation.

This meeting between the CEP and the CARICOM Group of Eminent Persons demonstrates the importance the CEP places on dialogue with regional and international partners committed to working alongside Haiti to consolidate the democratic process.

The CEP reaffirmed its commitment to conducting the electoral process in an inclusive, impartial, and transparent manner, in strict accordance with the principles of independence and democratic accountability.
