As part of a tour to monitor and evaluate public infrastructure, Joseph Almathe Pierre Louis, Minister of Public Works, visited several major construction sites in the North Department.

The Minister visited the construction site of the 1.33 km connecting road linking the main and secondary runways at Cap-Haïtien International Airport (AICH). He also assessed the progress of construction on the new departure hall. Launched on August 28, this project aims to provide passengers with modern, secure facilities that meet international standards.

In addition to aeronautical infrastructure, Pierre Louis inspected the progress of work on several crucial roads in the region, including the "SOS" road. Given the economic importance of these roads for the movement of goods and people, he urged the contracting companies and technical teams to accelerate the pace of work in order to deliver these projects as quickly as possible.

The visit also included the installation of traffic lights at the airport intersection, an essential improvement for road safety and traffic flow in this high-traffic area. The Minister emphasized to the public that these devices are solar-powered, ensuring their autonomy and longevity. He took the opportunity to make a direct appeal to civic awareness and collective responsibility:

"These infrastructures belong to the community. These lights were installed for your safety. It is now up to each citizen to take care of them, protect them from vandalism, and use them responsibly."

Through these initiatives, the Government reaffirms its commitment to relentlessly pursue the renovation of strategic infrastructure in the Grand Nord region to support its socio-economic development.
