On Saturday, September 26, 2026, upon his return to the country, Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé held a press briefing in the diplomatic lounge of Toussaint Louverture International Airport. He presented the key outcomes of bilateral meetings held with various partners during the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, focusing on Haiti’s three priorities: restoring security, organizing elections, and reviving the economy. Members of the cabinet, directors general, and senior state officials were present.

Regarding security, the Prime Minister advocated for the renewal of the mandate of the Gang Suppression Force (GSF) and the effective deployment of its 5,500 members. "A promise is a debt," he declared, calling on the international community to honor its commitments to Haiti.

Discussions were also initiated with Rwanda to strengthen the capabilities of the Armed Forces of Haiti (FAd’H) in addressing current security challenges.

On the economic front, Fils-Aimé indicated that discussions are underway with Qatar to encourage direct investment in Haiti, as well as with Germany regarding green energy, particularly to help create jobs for young people.

Finally, the Prime Minister reaffirmed his government's commitment to supporting the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) in the electoral process, with the aim of facilitating a return to constitutional order as soon as possible.
