On the sidelines of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly, Haitian Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé, accompanied by Foreign Minister Raina Forbin and Minister of Public Health Dr. Sinal Bertrand, met with a high-level German delegation.

The German delegation was led by Johann Wadephul, Federal Minister of Foreign Affairs, and also included Gustav N. Aitaro, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Palau, and Carsten Schneider, Federal Minister of the Environment, Nature Conservation, Nuclear Safety and Consumer Protection.

Discussions focused on national security in Haiti and the Gang Supression Force (GSF), particularly international support related to the FRG's deployment. Regarding the electoral process, discussions focused on consolidating democratic processes, preparing for upcoming elections, and supporting the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) in its return to constitutional order. Specific discussions were held in the area of ​​clean and renewable energy, a sector targeted to stimulate economic recovery and promote the creation of sustainable jobs for young Haitians.

The discussions centered on the upcoming elections and the progress made in preparations, particularly concerning voter registration, candidate verification, and the preparation of polling stations. The Prime Minister reaffirmed the Government's commitment to creating the necessary conditions for an inclusive, credible, transparent, and respectful electoral process that reflects the will of the people.

Addressing the security situation, the Prime Minister highlighted the efforts undertaken by national forces to retake and consolidate several strategic areas, while emphasizing the need to sustainably strengthen the State's presence, protect the population, and ensure the restoration of essential services. There was also discussion about the possibility of a high-level visit to Haiti at the end of October, as part of efforts to strengthen political dialogue and cooperation between the two countries.
