On Monday, September 29, 2026, a delegation from the Léogâne Town Hall, comprising Mayor Roberson Mimy, Deputy Mayor Dorly Leriche, and several administrative officials—inspected the dredging work initiated by the municipality in the Rouyonne River.

Carried out by the town hall with material support from the Ministry of Agriculture, this project aims to remove accumulated sediment and ensure proper water flow, thereby mitigating the damage typically caused during heavy rains.

With this initiative, the Léogâne Town Hall is fulfilling a promise made to the public—particularly the residents of Cassagne—and addressing a long-standing issue.
