On Tuesday, September 29, 2026, the Haitian National Police (PNH), as part of its efforts to strengthen the professional skills of its officers and foster closer ties between the police and the community, held a certificate presentation ceremony for 150 police officers, at the conclusion of a training program focused on capacity building in strategic and community-based policing. This training session brought together officers from various departments of the PNH as well as several specialized units.

This training, organized from September 25 to 28, 2026, and implemented by the Educational Community Policing (EduPOL) program, with support from UN Women, is part of an initiative to equip police officers with knowledge and tools adapted to the realities on the ground. The modules covered included civic responsibility, human rights, police ethics, and gender-based violence (GBV).

The ceremony took place in the presence of several members of the PNH High Command, including Inspector General Jean Yonel Trecile, representing the Acting Director General of the PNH; Chief Commissioner Dorvil Morency, representing the National Coordinator of Community Education Policing; and Chief Commissioner Joseph Rolind Jean-Louis, Director of the National Police Academy (ENP).

Through this initiative, the PNH reaffirms its commitment to policing practices based on professionalism, ethics, respect for human rights, and community engagement.
