Haiti's Industry Week Concludes with a Major Fair

On Saturday, October 3rd, 2026, the El Rancho Convention Center transformed into a vibrant showcase of Haitian craftsmanship, creativity, and entrepreneurial spirit, marking the conclusion of Industry Week. Driven by the vision of James Monazard, Minister of Commerce and Industry, this initiative aims to revitalize Haiti’s industrial sector and restore its central role in the national economy. Beyond the mere manufacturing of goods, industry encompasses the full spectrum of activities related to raw material processing, production, value creation, and the marketing of goods and services. Its development serves as a vital lever for stimulating economic activity, fostering employment, and strengthening national productive capacity.

Throughout the day, the public explored a wide array of products, services, and solutions designed or developed in Haiti across the various exhibition booths.

The day was also marked by direct interaction between exhibitors and visitors. Presentations, demonstrations, and discussions allowed the public to gain insight into the participating companies' operations. For some businesses, the fair also provided an opportunity to collect resumes from job seekers, thereby creating a tangible link between available skills and corporate needs.

During his visit, the Minister of Commerce and Industry, Mr. James Monazard, toured several booths and spoke with exhibitors. These interactions enabled the Minister to learn about the achievements on display and the future outlooks envisioned by the entrepreneurs. He also emphasized that the expansion of industrial activity is set to generate more jobs and open up new professional opportunities for the population. The fair also offered its share of surprises, with a prize draw that delighted several visitors. This convivial moment added a festive touch to a day already rich in discoveries and exchanges.

Beyond showcasing local expertise, the products on display highlighted the importance of boosting the country’s production capacity, particularly in the food sector. A proliferation of local initiatives can help Haiti gradually become more self-sufficient in meeting its own needs and reduce its reliance on imports. Throughout the day, entrepreneurs, businesses, and visitors shared a common space centered on a wealth that often goes unrecognized : the Haiti that produces, takes initiative, and innovates.
