On Saturday, October 10, 2026, Pythagore Dumas, the Minister of Youth and Sports (MJSAC), accompanied by Director General Wilfince Mombrun, conducted a second inspection visit to Parc Larco in the city of Les Cayes (South Department). This visit aligns with the Government's aim to assess the possibility of providing the country with a FIFA-standard football stadium, thereby enabling our men's and women's national teams—the Grenadiers and Grenadières, to host their home matches.

In response to this pressing need, the Government intends to explore all options to make the project a reality. During the visit, Minister Dumas noted that Prime Minister Fils-Aimé is deeply involved in resolving the land dispute that has hindered the park's proper operation for over a decade.

He also announced that MJSAC sports infrastructure experts would soon conduct a study to evaluate the project's feasibility and consider launching it in the near future. The plan envisions not merely a renovation, but potentially the construction of a modern stadium in the South. This initiative reflects the authorities' determination to provide Haitian football with infrastructure that meets international standards.

Berthin Bazelais, the MJSAC Departmental Director for the South, expressed enthusiasm for the idea of a stadium in the region, thanking both the Prime Minister and Minister Dumas for their decision to explore all options. In his view, realizing this project would represent a major step forward for football development in the region and across the entire country. By committing to the renovation of six sports parks nationwide, the MJSAC reaffirms its determination to work tirelessly toward modernizing the country’s sports infrastructure, thereby placing youth and sports at the heart of national priorities. The potential construction of a stadium in the South would represent a decisive step for the advancement of Haitian football, as well as a source of pride for the entire nation.
