FAd’H : Minister Andrésol on an inspection visit to the Vertières military base

On Thursday, October 15, 2026, as part of monitoring the training process for new recruits of the Armed Forces of Haiti (FAd'H), Minister of Defense Mario Andrésol conducted an inspection visit to the Vertières military base.

The objectives of this visit were to assess the conditions for welcoming, housing, supervising, and instructing the recruits, to inquire about the state of the infrastructure available to them, and to identify any needs that could impact the smooth running of the training program.

Upon his arrival, the Minister was greeted by the Base Commander, Colonel Jacques Stanley Saint-Louis, accompanied by Captain Gousmith Eloge. A technical tour of the main facilities was then conducted, including the classrooms, dormitories, sanitary facilities, mess hall, and the various spaces used for training activities and the daily lives of the recruits.

This field inspection allowed the Minister of Defense to directly assess the material and infrastructural conditions under which the training takes place.

At the end of the visit, Andrésol met with base officials to discuss the main challenges related to the implementation of the training program. Colonel Jacques Stanley Saint-Louis and Captain Gousmith Eloge presented several needs and recommendations, particularly concerning the improvement of the base's operational conditions, the strengthening of its capacity to accommodate new recruits, and the optimization of the training environment.

Taking note of the concerns raised, the Minister pledged to provide concrete solutions to the identified needs as soon as possible in order to improve the training conditions for new recruits.
