Vijonet Déméro, Minister of National Education and Vocational Training (MENFP), accompanied by Neptune Prince, Permanent Secretary of the National Commission for Cooperation with UNESCO, participated in a working session on October 15 with the new UNESCO Assistant Director-General for Natural Sciences, Denise Pires de Carvalho.

During the meeting, Déméro presented government projects aimed at modernizing the education system, including the teaching of sciences, the establishment of micro-science laboratories in secondary schools, digital and financial literacy, the digitalization of the educational system, and the transition to digital (paperless) diplomas issued by the MENFP.

The UNESCO Assistant Director-General for Natural Sciences reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to cooperating with Haiti, particularly by providing technical support, to assist in the implementation of these projects.
