President Martelly soon in Panama
Chancellor Panamanian Roberto Henríquez, declared on the State television of his country, that the Haitian President Michel Martelly, accompanied by Laurent Lamothe, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, will travel to Panama from February 5 to 7. President Chavez confirms the request of adhesion of Haiti to the ALBA
Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez declared that Haiti and other Caribbean countries would formally request their adhesion to the ALBA (Bolivarian Alternative for the Peoples of the Americas) ) at the next summit of ALBA to be held on February 5. https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-4693-haiti-politic-martelly-evokes-the-possibility-to-become-a-full-member-of-alba.html ALBA was born at the initiative of President Chavez in 2004. Carnival of Jacmel J-10
The Jacmel Carnival which will be held February 12, 2012, this year plans to offer many new features. The parade will be longer runs, it will depart from the tourist port of Jacmel and will traval on the the Avenue de la Liberté, Avenue Barranquilla, intersection Isaac Pardo before returning to Port. Miche Géhy, the President of the Organizing Committee of the Carnival, announced that the Miss 2012, France, Canada, Denmark and the Turks and Caicos islands and a dozen regional queens will participate in the Carnival of Jacmel and will promote tourism in the region. Recalling that for over 20 years, the Carnival of Jacmel is a reference in this regard he asserts that the Carnival of Jacmel is not affected by the National Carnival which will be held in the city of Les Cayes [from February 19 to 21, 2012].

Prime Minister in favor to the publication of the Constitution
While the President Martelly is still in consultation and and to reflect on the publication of not of the amended text of the Constitution, the Prime Minister, Dr. Garry Conille estimates for his part that the publication of the amended text of the Constitution is the best thing to do, acordding to him, this text has several advantages for the country. However, the Prime Minister recognizes that this decision is the prerogative of the President Martelly. The Prime Minister informs that he is currently considering on the two options, namely the Constitution of 1987 and the amended text in order to be ready, whatever the final decision of the Head of State. "[...] What is needed is a consensus, but I support the President regardless of his decision..."
