New strategy for the COSOP

During the year 2012 the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) and the Ministry of Agriculture, Natural Resources and Rural Development (MARNDR) have agreed to prepare a new strategy for the strategic or the strategic opportunities program for the country (COSOP) to align it with the priorities of the new Haitian government and define the investment cycle 2013-2015. A final review mission of the current COSOP and of formulation of new COSOP, is planned for the month of July 2012 with the objective to present it at the session of December 2012 of Board of IFAD.

The Mayor of L'Houmeau (France) postpones his travel to Haiti

Following the replacement of several municipal councils by the Haitian President Martelly, including the mayor of Port-au-Prince, which has a special relationship with the 'capital' of Charente-Maritime, the Ambassador of France in Haiti suggested to Daniel Groscolas, Mayor of L'Houmeau, Vice-President of the Urban Community of La Rochelle, responsible for international relations, to postpone its visit to Haiti planned for next Monday for lack of interlocutor and of unfavorable political situation.
