The UEH claims more than 1,2 billion gourdes

Taking advantage of the postponement of the ratification meeting of the budget, for lack of quorum, the Council of the State University of Haiti (UEH) request in a letter addressed to Simon Dieuseul Desras, President of the Senate, an increase of its operating budget and of investment. The State University considers that the 656 million gourdes provided in the Finance Act, is a shoestring budget and indecent. Jean Vernet Henry, Rector of the UEH indicates in his correspondence, that to fulfill its objectives, create new programs, encourage research, provide the various entities of appropriate material and remunerate adequately teachers and staff, the UEH needs an annual budget of over 1,2 billion gourdes.

Aircraft and boats from the Dominican Republic at the service of Haiti...

The Dominican Major-General Rolando Rosado, Head of the fight against drugs (DNCD) reported that the President Leonel Fernandez asked the DNCD and the armed forces of Dominican Republic to put logistical and technical resources, especially aircraft and ships, at the disposal of Haiti to effectively fight against drug trafficking. According to Major-General this support to Haiti will be available "at any time and as often as necessary" recalling that the two countries maintain a permanent exchange of information for the conduct of joint operations.

Official evaluation tests unchanged this year

The Ministry of Education informed that the texts of exams that will be proposed this year at the official evaluation tests(6th AF, 9th AF, bacs 1 and 2) will respect the same format as previous years. Stressing that the new model of exams recently distributed, are only intended to introduce students to potential future changes during the years 2012-2013.

The Canadian Ambassador to Haiti, visit the CEDI

Henri Paul Normandin, Canada's Ambassador to Haiti, visited the International Centre of Diplomatic Studies (CEDI), to Bourdon. This visit, which lasted nearly three hours, has allowed many students to ask questions on bilateral relations and cooperation policy vis-à-vis Haiti. Ambassador Normandin, praised the quality and the scope the links established since the early 60s and said how Canada was proud of its cultural diversity, the contribution of the Haitian community in its development and the exemplary human relations that prevail between the two countries.
