The Prime Minister, Laurent Lamothe, at the head of a delegation, is in New York, where he will participate in the 67th Session of the General Assembly of the United Nations (UN). On the occasion of his visit which will last until Friday, September 28, the Head of Government will have important bilateral meetings with senior government officials and leaders of international organizations in order to put forward the best interests of the Haitian people. The Prime Minister will assist Wednesday, September 26, to the offical intervention of President Martelly, before the General Assembly.
Upcoming opening of the Best Western Hotel
Saturday, Stéphanie Balmir Villedrouin, the Minister of Tourism, at the invitation of the investor Stanley Handal, visited the new Best Western hotel in Petion-Ville, which will open its doors before 2013. The Mayor of Petion-Ville, Claire Lydie Parent, the Executive Director, Josette Darguste and Emmanuel Ulrick Noel, Director of Investments of the Ministry of Tourism were also present at the visit.
Signing of a contract for the rehabilitation of buildings of justice

The Prime Minister, visited Grand Ravine
The Prime Minister, Laurent Lamothe, accompanied by Mrs. Rosanne Auguste, his Minister Delegate in charge of human rights and the fight against extreme poverty, carried out a visit Friday in the popular neighborhood of Grand Ravine (south of the capital), where he among other things, distributed hundreds of phones to poor mothers, in the framework of social support "Ti Manman cheri", given an allowance of emergency to over 500 mothers for a period of six months under the same program and also distributed more than 1,000 food kits. The Prime Minister is convinced that structural reforms are needed to permanently change their living conditions.
The Minister of Tourism, visited the airport of Cap-Haitien
hursday, Stéphanie Balmir Villedrouin, the Minister of Tourism visited the site of the airport of Cap to see the progress of works : extension to 2.650 m, of the runway and the construction of a new terminal, which will allow the airport to be open to the international. She has also took advantage of this visit, to conduct a meeting with the Magistrates of Milot and Dondon, the World Bank, the directors of the Park and the Haitian Tourism Association, about the engineering to deploy, to put in place infrastructure projects and the impact on the community and the environment.
