10 years to eradicate cholera !

Dr. Donald François, a senior official of the Ministry of Health says it will take about ten years to eradicate the cholera epidemic affecting the country for two years now. "For the moment we have not seen a resurgence of the epidemic. We record occasionally of small outbreaks in some areas, but the incidence of cholera has decreased significantly."

Goods in polyethylene seized at the border

According to Jean Vilmont, the Minister of the Environment, polyethylene goods were seized by Customs at the Haitiano-Dominican border of Malpasse, recalling that the Government has banned the manufacture, import and marketing of products in polyethylene and polystyrene since 1 October 2012.

Reminder, Sunday the time change in Haiti

The Office of Communication of the Presidency informs the population that under the provisions of the Presidential Order of Wednesday, March 7, 2012, the adoption of time change according to the seasons is permanent. Thus, the time national will decreases by 60 minutes from 2:00 am on the first Sunday of November, this year November 4, 2012 more precisely, will advance of 60 minutes every second Sunday of March until further notice. The Office of Communication of the Presidency invites the population to adjust on these new provisions in order not to have setbacks in their daily activities.

Wednesday, the Haitian Bureau of Copyrights (BHDA) named Miss Phédia Bazile (Miss Anayizz 2012) Goodwill Ambassador for the cause and respect for the rights of authors and neighboring rights in Haiti. The BHDA mission is among others : the defense of moral and material interests of authors and performers of intellectual creations and to ensure the protection and exploitation of the rights of creators of intellectual works.
