Martelly named member observer of Secretary General of the Latin American
The President of the Republic of Haiti, Michel Martelly, was named unanimously observer member of the Latin-American Secretary General, this Saturday, November 16, 2012 by the 22 participants in the 22nd Latin American Summit in Cadiz, Spain.

Firefighters of Jacmel "best equipped in the country"
As part of a Quick Impact Project (QIP), funded entirely by the Minustah to the tune of $ 150,000, the Departmental Fire Service of Firefighters of Jacmel this week received a full set of materials and equipment to strengthen its fight against fires and rescue including : jackets and pants for interventions, gloves, boots, radios, compressors, generators and other tools necessary for rescue. Marc-Donald Duplan, Head of the Fire Department of Jacmel, welcomed that its body of firemen is now "the best equipped in the country."

Meeting at the Office of Tourism South East
The Departmental Directorate of Tourism South East, the National Institute for Vocational Training (INFP) and the Voluntary Cooperation Programme (VCP) held a meeting at the Office of Tourism South East on : food safety ; the standards of the Ministry of Tourism and of Ministry of Health ; standards of operation for hotels and restaurants ; supervisory procedures of food and hospitality establishments ; the project in partnership of Ministry of Tourism with the College Montmorency ; the partnership project between the Ministry of Tourism and the Institute of Tourism and Hospitality of Quebec and the training curriculum.

OPH provides assistance to its employees
Following the recent floods, a delegation from the General Directorate of Post Office of Haiti (OPH) proceeded Thursday at a distribution of food and hygiene kits to affected employees of the institution in the Northern Department. The delegation delivered to the Regional Post Office of North about fifty food kits for employees of post offices of Cap-Haitien, Ouanaminthe, Limonade and Fort Liberté.

Training of over 1,000 teachers
According to the former Senator of North East, M. Boulos, more than a thousand teachers will be trained in his department with the support of several foreign partners. With a duration of two-year this training will be given at the University of Limonade. Nearly 7,000 teachers are affected by this training throughout the country.
