The Dominican Republic announced yesterday that it would strengthen the security of its 350 km border with Haiti, by deploying 1,500 soldiers, whose task will be the prevention of human trafficking and the fight against smuggling of goods.
Haitian problem in the Turks and Caicos
Ms. Bernice Fidelia, the Minister of Haitians Living Abroad (MHAVE), who was visiting the Turks and Caicos, encourages Haitians living on the islands, to unite and avoid delinquency to enhance the image of Haiti outside until arrangements are made by the Haitian Government. Note that the inhabitants of the Turks and Caicos are very concerned by the number of Haitians estimated to be about 15,000 or 50% of the population.

New Director General at the head of CNC
