Sharp drop in kidnappings in May
Reginald Delva, the Secretary of State for Public Security, announced a significant reduction in the rate of kidnappings in May 2013, where three cases were recorded, while the average was between 15 and 20 cases in 2012. Mr. Delva attribute the good results obtained by security forces, to the leadership of Head of State and of Prime Minister who have always shown their determination to combat this scourge, to facilitate the arrival of foreign investors.

The Deputy Bourjolly, threatening to take up arms

Helmets and bulletproof vests for PNH
Friday, Me Jean Renel Sanon, the Minister of Justice together with Godson Orélus, Director General of the National Police of Haiti received Gérard Daniel Rouzier representative of "Food For The Poor" in Haiti in order to plan the distribution of 500 ballistic helmets and 500 bullet-proof vests offered by the organization, for a total cost of U.S. $ 485.029. The Minister believes that the fight against crime will be done among other by the capacity of intervention of the PNH.

National Reading Competition
Friday Vanneur Pierre, Minister of Education announced that during the course of official examinations, a national reading championship will be organized in the 10 departments of the country, whose official launch is scheduled for June 24. This First Edition 2012-2013 of reading championship, which is expected to reach 25,000 students in public and private schools, primarily targets students in the 3th and 4th fundamental year.
