Haiti Fashion Week 2013

Haiti Fashion Week 2013 will be held from September 19 to 21 at the Caribe Convention Center with the theme "Mod'ifions notre environnement". This event will welcome designers and buyers local & International with the aim of strengthening economic fashion industry in Haiti. This event is implemented by "Modayiti", "Chape et Hand", the Ministry of Culture and the European Union through the ARCHES project with the support of the Ministry of Environment and many sponsors.

A police loses control...

On Thursday, a policewoman who was robbed of her money in out of the National Bank of Credit located in Delmas 52 by gunmen who knew the exact amount of the transaction (85,000 gourdes), convinced that the latter were complicit with employees returned within the branch, drew his weapon and fired, causing panic in the establishment... The police officer is now questioned to the Inspectorate of the National Police of Haiti.

Gold Medal for Haiti...

Thursday, as part of Games of La Francophonie taking place in France, singer Jean Jean Roosevelt won at the Nice Opera, the final and the first gold medal for Haiti, in song. Jean Jean was competing against : Valérie (Austria), Sae Lis (Lebanon), Holy Jah Doves (Rwanda) and Beni-Wende Marietou (Burkina Faso).

Passports ready in Guadeloupe

The Consulate General of the Republic of Haiti in Guadeloupe, inform the Haitian community that all those who applied for a passport before September, can go to the consulate to get the new booklet, with in hand the invoice and the old passport.

Stéphanie Villedrouin at the National Theatre of Haiti...

Wednesday, Stéphanie Balmir Villedrouin, the Minister of Tourism visited the National Theatre of Haiti to encourage the efforts of Yves Penel, the Director General of the National Theatre. On the sidelines of his visit, Ms. Villedrouin promised a partnership between the Ministry and the National Theater of Haiti, in all activities designed to promote the Haitian culture. A show of the Theatre Troupe was presented in honor of the Minister during the visit.
