As part of the 65th anniversary of the compas direct (July 26), Pradel Henriquez the Minister of Culture expresses his wishes for longevity to our national music

"Thanks to the creative genius of saxophonist and guitarist Nemours Jean Baptiste, to whom we pay tribute, we now have a musical heritage which constitutes both our pride and our national identity. Fortunately, this style still retains its value, its freshness and a huge success on the international scene," underlined Minister Henriquez expressing all his gratitude to the musical groups and to all the actors of the production chain, who fought body and soul , to keep the torch lit, among others : Les Difficiles et les Gypsies ”de Pétion-Ville, Shleu shleu, Skah-shah, Tabou combo, Système band, Tropicana d'Haiti, Magnum band, Orchester Septentrional, Coupé Cloué, Sweet Micky , Top Vice, Zin, Fantoms, Zenglen, T-Vice, Riské, Siwomyèl, Djakout Mizik, Artiz, Nu look, Carimi, Kreyòl la, Kaï, Vayb, Konpa O Féminin, Zafèm, Enposib…

"Through the Compass, it is all Haitian music that the Ministry honors. This 65th anniversary is an opportunity to wish all of you, musicians, musicians, creators, animators, cultural journalists, promoters, producers... a happy birthday, but above all to formulate, in the name of the Moïse Administration - Jouthe, success and a bright future, to our national compass," declared the Minister.

Henriquez also expressed his gratitude to the Nemours Jean Baptiste Music School, which is committed to perpetuating the memory of the founding father of the compass, through the comprehensive training of young people from disadvantaged neighborhoods.
