iciHaiti - Road safety : 27 accidents, at least 55 victims
Garnel Michel Coordinator of the Haitian organization Technical and Operational Services to Stop Accidents (STOP-Accidents), informs us that for the week of August 3 to 9, 2020, 27 road accidents on the national territory (-22.8%) by report to the previous week https://www.icihaiti.com/en/news-31391-icihaiti-road-safety-particularly-murderous-week.html made at least 55 victims (-28.5%): 6 dead (- 50%) and 49 injured (-24.6%) including several seriously.

A third of the accidents occurred on the National Road Number 3 (RN3), all of the deaths occurred on the RN2. La Route rails (Carrefour), Formon (Torbeck), Carrefour Desruisseau, Delmas 6, Chansolme, Hinche, Petit-goâve, route de Labadie, Mirebalais, Delmas 32 among others, are the main municipalities and areas where these accidents were recorded.

Remember that this weekly report was carried out in partnership with the National Ambulance Center (CAN) and the Haitian Red Cross. However, due to lack of resources STOP-Accident is unable to monitor the state of health of the injured, some of whom die as a result of their injuries and are not counted.

STOP-Accidents, reiterates its call for caution on our roads and urges the Government to strengthen prevention measures and to set up a systematic vehicle inspection service.
