On Friday, former Prime Minister Yvon Neptune went to the office of investigating judge Lamarre Bélizaire, to answer a convocation as part of the investigation on the former President Jean Bertrand Aristide accused among other things of embezzlement and money laundering. Twenty people including trainers of HHE, inspectors of MTIC and hospitality professionals and food took part in this training session. This activity is the result of a technical cooperation initiated by Stéphanie Balmir Villedrouin the Minister of MTIC with Brazil to improve the capacity of professional of catering sector in Haiti. Water filter made in Haiti On Thursday, Prime Minister Laurent Lamothe met Ms. Annunzie Roy to discuss the distribution of its water filter that she manufactures in Haiti. Improve the income of suppliers of tourism products and services A meeting was held between Maryse Noël, Director General of MTIC, Mr. Ferney Piou and Maria Eugenia Aribas Garcia, a volunteer of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO). It was agreed that Ms. Garcia will work with the Ministry in Jacmel on a STEP (Sustennable Tourism for aliviation of Poverty) project. The project co-funded by the WTO and the Haitian State, will extend over eight months and aims to support small producers, suppliers of tourism products and services in order to enable them to improve their income.
