iciHaiti - Dominican Republic : 35 Haitian fishermen arrested, 7 boats seized

The Navy of the Dominican Republic indicated that on Friday, May 1st, during simultaneous and joint operations, 35 Haitian nationals have been arrested and 7 boats seized while they were practicing illegal fishing activities in the Dominican coastal marine area.
The operations were carried out In the commune of Cabo Rojo, Pedernales Province (South), where the Dominican Navy units, arrested 15 Haitians who were illegally fishing in the vicinity of the Beata island and 20 other Haitian fishermen were arrested in the area of Cayo Siete Hermanos, Province of Montecristi (North) in Dominican territorial waters, aboard 5 boats locally made.
