"Yunus Social Business" (YSB) in Haiti, informs that Friday, May 8, 2015, the Nobel Peace Laureate, Professor Muhammad Yunus will animate to the Hotel Montana, a conference on the theme "Social Business Movement in Haiti"
Recall that YSB Haiti has a portfolio of 11 social businesses in Haiti, which have received almost $1,5 million in financing from YSB, and a further $300,000 has been mobilized from YSB’s co-financers. Among social enterprises beneficiaries include among others : the "Poulailler de Nicolas" (FATEM) a chicken farm, generating profits to support local school in a rural area of Mirebalais ; "Être Ayisyen", an Entrepreneurial Institute which focuses on teaching entrepreneurial skills to Haitian youth in order to create jobs in the Haitian formal sector ; "Pain O Quotidien", a Bakery in Saint-Marc producing fortified breads while distributing its products through a network of trained female micro-entrepreneurs and "Palmis Eneji", a distributor of affordable, safe and clean energy solutions for the people living in Haiti without access to reliable sources of energy to cook and have a sufficient amount of light...
