Following the intervention of police officers from Mirebalais and agents of UNPOL, two women in their sixties equestered since May 8, 2015 in a house in Anba Michlèt, locality of Savanette have been released this week.

The two women tied securely were retained in the house of a certain "Joël" with the complicity of several members of the community, who accused them of having used witchcraft to attract drought on the community of Savanette.

Joël and his accomplices had time to flee and are actively sought. The two women who had suffered ill-treatment were taken to hospital to receive treatment.

This release was made possible thanks to the members of the human rights committee of the Border Network Jeannot Success (RFJS) who alerted the police of the situation.
