Since Thursday, the Dominican General Directorate of Immigration (DGM) began patrolling in the streets of the main cities of the Dominican Republic and carries out verifications of documents in search of undocumented immigrants who do not register to the National Plan for the Regularization of Foreigners (PNRE), which was finalized Wednesday, June 17, after 18 months.

Rubén Darío Paulino Sem, the Director General of the Dominican Immigration, said they have access to the PNRE database, enabling them to identify and verify the people who have applied to the regulation plan. In this regard, he recommended to immigrants, who are part of the regulation plan of always have on them their registration certificate which was given to them by the Ministry of the Interior and Police.

Note that repatriations will be supervised, among others, by representatives of international organizations, who arrived there a few days in the Dominican Republic for this purpose.
