Lesly Condé, the Consul General of the Republic of Haiti in Chicago, remind the entire Haitian community that August 14, 2015 brings the 224th anniversary of the Ceremony of Bois Caiman, a very important event in the history since it has led to the creation of the first black republic in the world. 

On this occasion, the "haitian congress to fortify haiti" organized with the support of the Consular Mission, Friday, August 14, an evening recreational, cultural and patriotic at KizinCreole located at 2311 Howard St., Chicago.

This Saturday, Haiti will participate in the Windy City Carnival. The parade will begin at 1:00 pm at the Midway Plaisance, between Stoney Island and Cottage Grove. This participation is sponsored by the Consulate General of Haiti.
