Since 2011, the United Nations commemorated on August 30 the International Day of the Victims of Enforced Disappearances, including all missing whose bodies have never been found by their parents.

To prevent the crime was perfect when the executioners did disappear until the corpses, "Devoir de Mémoire-Haïti" (DDM-H) calls for the construction of a memorial on the Champ de Mars, to honor the tens of thousands of disappeared victims in Haiti between 1957 and 2015.

By disavowing the conveniences bearing relatives of the victims to smile against their will with their executioners, this memorial bearing the names of all the victims, would be the strongest symbol to honor the missing of that dark time by giving them more visibility for future generations never forget.
