For the first time in its history, a streetlight was lit in the city of Les Coteaux located in the South of Haiti. Les Coteaux now has a solar hybrid mini-grid with 120kW solar power and two diesel generators (120kW and 250kW). The system will soon be fully operational in the rest of the city and other urban centers.
This mini-grid, will allow people to run small businesses requiring energy, such as bakeries, shops and ice-cream, without having to worry about power cuts while benefiting from greater security for night activities.
