Wednesday, on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly, held in New York from September 15 to October 5, 2015, Lener Renauld, the Foreign Minister met with his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov.

During this meeting, the two Chancellors discussed the prospects for expanding Russian-Haitian bilateral relations, cooperation between the two countries in the UN and signed an agreement on the basic principles of relations between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Haiti.

Chancellor Renauld hanked Russia for its efforts, mainly through the United Nations, for its assistance in the stabilization of the political and socioeconomic situation in Haiti.
