iciHaiti - Dominican Republic : Elections, Strengthening of the border security

In preparation for the elections to be held Sunday, October 25 in Haiti, Dominican military and police authorities have increased the number of their officers at the border, both in markets, as on the whole of the boundary line where could enter illegal Haitians fleeing Haiti.
A source of the Dominican Ministry of Defence confirmed that border security was increased temporarily due to the holding of elections in Haiti and the risk of violence, hoping that everything will be fine.
Note that in the middle of the week, over 600 soldiers were sent to the border to strengthen security device already in place (Operation Shield) still in place since the beginning of 2015.
