iciHaiti - Music : Cécile McLorin won the Grammy for Best Vocal Jazz Album

Monday, at the ceremony of the 58th Grammy Awards in Los Angeles in the United States, the American jazz singer Cécile McLorin Salvant born August 28, 1989 in Florida daughter of McLorin Salvant, a Haitian-born doctor and a Guadeloupean teacher mother, won the Grammy for "Best Jazz Vocal Album" for her album "For One to Love" released September 4, 2015 under the Mack Avenue Records Label.

Moved to tears, Cécile on stage at the Staple Center declared "Thank you, it's crazy! I have to begin by thanking all those who helped me, my musicians, my manager, my label for believing in our music. I have to thank my sister and my father who always encouraged me [...] And most of all, I must thank my mother who has always been by my side [...] who encouraged me to go to jazz. Thank you, Mom, this Grammy is for you."
