In a note, the Professional Association of Petroleum (APP) [which includes oil importing, storing, transporting and distributing petroleum products] and the National Association of Oil Products Distributors (ANADIPP) [which includes the managers of some gas stations or their affiliations to the oil companies] say they are "deeply shocked and saddened following the fire of tank truck of the gas station of Hinche that has claimed several lives on March 17" https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-16943-haiti-hinche-fire-of-the-gas-station-the-death-toll-rises.html "While our mission is our daily concern is to provide in complete safety fuel, particularly in these difficult times our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families."

Both organizations stress that "what happened on Hinche station is a sequence of exceptional events (accidental leak on the truck and the presence of a hot spot near the station). It should be noted, however, that despite the fire tank truck on gas station of Hinche, the fuel contained in the underground tanks of the station, did not catch fire.
