Florence Élie, the Protector of Citizens, received the visit of the new Government Commissioner of Port-au-Prince Me Jean Danton Léger https://www.icihaiti.com/en/news-17062-icihaiti-justice-new-government-commissioner-to-pap.html in the premises of the Citizen Protection Office (OPC) to Lalue.

During this visit the Protector of Citizens, held discussions with the Commissioner on the prison situation in the jurisdiction of Port-au-Prince and the various activities carried out by the OPC in the fight against prolonged preventive detention including regular visits to detention centers and judicial follow.

For his part, Me Léger has committed to implement the recommendations of the OPC, which seek the respect for judicial guarantees and improving the situation of persons deprived of liberty.
