Wednesday took place the launch of a 2-day seminar on the Regime of Markets and Single Economy of the CARICOM (CSME), based on the principles of free access to public procurement; equal treatment of companies ; respect for ethics and effectiveness of public finances.
In his speech the Prime Minister Enex Jean-Charles after the greetings and thanks of circumstance stated "[...] Despite the efforts, Haiti has not yet integrated theprocess of market integration in the Caribbean, according to the objectives. Now, Haitian businesses will have to consent lot of efforts to improve their competitiveness. Too often, opportunities escape to Haitian businesses, not only by lack of skills, but also information. It is hoped that with this new procurement system, new opportunities emerge for the benefit of our economy," arguing for a reform of the legislation in this respect he advocated the strengthening of cooperation within the Caribbean Community (CARICOM).
