Friday, May 20, Frantz Liautaud, Ambassador of the Republic of Haiti to Canada accompanied by his wife Florence Saint-Leger Liautaud, as well as members of the mission, attended the launch of the Association « Les amis du YMCA d’Haïti » (Friends of the YMCA of Haiti) (AYH), to the Citizen's House (City Hall Gatineau QC).

The writer of Haitian origin, Dany Laferrière member of the French Academy, was also the guest of honor of the evening. Guests could receive an autographed copy of his latest book "Tout ce qu'on ne te dira pas, Mongo" published by Editions Mémoire d'encrier https://www.icihaiti.com/en/news-15583-icihaiti-literature-soon-the-release-of-the-last-book-of-dany-laferriere.html . Note that this is Dany's first book since joining the French Academy.

In addition, an exhibition of works of art from some of the largest Haitian painters, was also held as part of the event. The exhibition ends this Sunday, May 22, 2016.
