iciHaiti - Grand'Anse : Training of 175 volunteers in emergencies
7 Training workshops aimed at building the capacity of the Grand'Anse regional committee in the communes of Moron, Chambellan, Les Irois, Anse-d'Hainault, Pestel, Roseau and Beaumont ended just before the Carnival.

This one-week training session was attended by 175 volunteers, focused inter alia on the preparation of communities for emergencies and the training of volunteers on the Haitian Red Cross (CRH) First Aid Module in order to allow participants to provide first aid to anyone who has suffered a serious accident or disability in their community and to use the tools available to them for possible emergency interventions.

14 trainers, members of the training network of the CDF-CRH Training Center were mobilized for these workshops. Léandre Appolon, Director of the CDF-CRH, personally supervised these workshops alongside the International Federation of Red Cross health team in Jérémie, the Grand'Anse Regional Committee and the local coordinators concerned.

These workshops were carried out with the support of the partners of the National Society of the Haitian Red Cross, in particular the Japanese Government. First aid kits, donated by the Qatar Red Crescent Society, were distributed to the participants.
