The technical mission of the delegation of the European Investment Bank (EIB) in Haiti ended on Friday 3 March https://www.icihaiti.com/en/news-20247-icihaiti-economy-major-mission-in-haiti-of-the-european-investment-bank.html A very fruitful tour which was concluded by meetings between the EIB officials, the National Authorizing Officer, the Head of the EU Delegation in Haiti and the education and infrastructure advisors of President Jovenel Moïse.

The focus has been put on the infrastructure projects in the public sector, in particular the post-Matthew investments which aim among others : the construction of a hydraulic dam in the South, the reconstruction of the schools of the two departments affected by the hurricane, the completion of the Cayes-Jérémie road, the rehabilitation of the ports of the South and Grand'Anse.

Other avenues of investment are also being studied, such as the development of agro-industry, the energy sector, social housing, public-private partnership and the construction of new roads.
