Scientists around the world advocate the conservation of biodiversity and the development of conservation strategies. The Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) has created the Global Taxonomy Initiative (GTI), whose objective is to classify and make an inventory of the global biodiversity for the price of good restoration and reforestation decisions.

Unfortunately, in Haiti we are not yet involved... consequence after the passage of the hurricane Matthew the actors are unable to find scientific data for the restoration of the Great South in particular and in Haiti in general.

In this sense, to help people acquire new knowledge on habitat restoration, reforestation, coastal and urban planning, the team of the Botanical Garden of Les Cayes organizes a training in systematic botany, seed and herbarium assembly.

This activity will be held at the garden premises located in Bergeaud from 10 to 13 May 2017, every day from 1h00 to 5h00 p.m.

Calendar :
10 - 11 May training in systematic botany;
12 May collection tour on the South Coast;
May 13 training on herbarium assembly.
