Gérald Oriol Jr., the Secretary of State for the Integration of People with Disabilities, headed a delegation from his office, was in the departments of the South and Grand'Anse at the end of September to evaluate the interventions of its Bureau and meet various sectors working in these departments.

During this tour he met the Delegate of the South Max Serge Daniel, Deputy Mayor Claudette Delerme Régis, Deputy Mayor of Cavaillon Myriame Jean Louis, Deputy Mayor of Chambellan Jocelyn Gara and representatives of public and private institutions such as Saint Boniface Hospital, to encourage greater consideration of the needs of people with special needs in their interventions.

He also discussed the issue of disability with officials from associations of disabled people and the staff of the Office. Grant checks and school kits were also distributed to disabled people in difficulty.

He also took advantage of his trip to visit various ongoing projects including social housing for the benefit of handicapped persons and their families and the construction of poultry houses.
